Deletion Policy

Okra Technologies respects your right to control your personal data. This policy explains how you can request the deletion of your Okra Rides account, what happens to your data after a deletion request, and what information may be retained for legal or safety purposes.


How to Request

Ways to Delete Your Account

We offer multiple ways to submit an account deletion request. Choose whichever is most convenient for you.

In-App Help Centre

Open the Okra Rides app and navigate to /help. Contact our support team and request account deletion. This is the fastest method.

Email Request

Send a deletion request to info@okrarides.com from the email address associated with your account.

Phone

Call us at +260 770 031 114 during business hours (Mon–Fri, 08:00–17:00 CAT) to request deletion.

Visit Us In Person

If you're nearby, you're welcome to visit our offices at Garden View Properties, Lagos Road, Lusaka, Zambia to request in person.

The Process

What Happens After You Request

Once we receive your request, we follow a clear process to verify your identity and complete the deletion.

Request received

We acknowledge receipt of your deletion request within 2 business days via the channel you used to contact us.

Identity verification

To protect your account, we verify your identity by confirming details tied to your registered account (e.g. phone number or email).

Outstanding balances resolved

If you have an outstanding balance, active trip, or unresolved dispute, we will work with you to resolve these before proceeding.

Account deactivated

Your account is deactivated immediately upon confirmation, preventing any further logins or activity.

Data deleted within 30 days

Personal data that is not subject to legal retention requirements is permanently deleted within 30 days of confirmed deactivation.

Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation message once your account and data have been deleted, or a clear explanation of any data retained and the reason for retention.

What Data May Be Retained

Certain data may be retained after account deletion where required by Zambian law or to protect our legitimate business interests.

Where data is retained, it is stored securely and used only for the stated purpose. It will not be used for marketing or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
Consequences

What Deletion Means for You

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Before requesting deletion, please be aware:

If you are a Driver or Delivery Partner, additional offboarding steps may be required to settle outstanding earnings and vehicle documentation. Our support team will guide you through this process.

Changed Your Mind?

Cancelling a Deletion Request

If you change your mind after submitting a deletion request, you may cancel it at any time before your account data has been permanently deleted (within the 30-day processing window).

To cancel your deletion request, contact us through any of the methods listed on this page. Once permanent deletion has been completed, it cannot be reversed.
